I can not say enough good things about this saw. I got it for about a month and it works perfectly within its boundaries. Set up was easy and adjustments have been there out of the box. 40T blade it comes with is hard on wood and dust bag does not really work (like most of them), but can be adapted to a vacuum. Easy to adjust and relatively compact. Laser works well, and throat zero clearance is nice. Finally, I want a 12 "double bevel, but I'll use it for a long period of time.reduction equipment more than I do are better done with a table saw anyway. Excellent tool like most Ridgid tools I used.

Bought this on Amazon in April 2006. He replaced my tank type 10 "miter saw Milwaukee - the most accurate tool I ever used so far Makita arrived. Every time I use this tool, I fell in love with her again . So I thought I "owed" it a good review. I am not a professional trader, craftsman, carpenter, etc. - just an owner who gets too excited sometimes so over my head. I take a lot of wood perfectly well and convert 'em to sawdust and thresholds - but now Ido it with a big smile and with more precision than I deserve. If I had to choose a word for this saw - one - it would be good.

No. Make that SMOOOOTH place.

Being able to bevel and miter of both sides gives me confidence to tackle difficult cuts. I find myself enjoying that "something extra" bit of trim and finish work on all the work - it gives me an excuse to practice with this saw. I do things I would not even bother to try, if I did not have this tool. InBesides cutting performance and accuracy, it proved very versatile in my small garage shop because I can swing the saw around the place of wood (usually cedar dimension). capcity Nice - 4x4 Stck cup or 2x4 on edge with ease. My most difficult compound cuts so far? Attic Vents building custom pinion and mounting the coverslip strips (45 degree angle) into a chamber octagonal. The math angle was a bit of a challenge (!) But once calculated, the reductions were easy toset up and run on this saw - and died. Yeah, I know what you think: "gable vents? Gable Vents! Problem ..." Me too - until I got these multiple angle end cuts.

The saw is well designed and built with quality. No problems of 3-1/2 years (it is true) occasional use. The blade is excellent, with reductions similar to those of my table saw blade Forrest. Even with the great Amazon - free shipping, too - it was the second most expensive tool I have everpurchased (after my table saw). But I have never regretted. Not once.

Vows: second retaining clip would be nice (mine came with a clamp and two extensions). I am moving the clamp to the "other" side frequently. Like most Makita tools, accessories and parts are easy to find so I'll probably soon be a catch. Cheers!

I had this saw for several months. It is a powerful but quiet SILKY SMOOTH saw right.

It is surprisingly high due to the drag functionality. I had to move my work bench to welcome him.

Make sure you have ENOUGH behind the saw.

I regretted my choice and wish I had gone with a bevel compound as the Dewalt 716 until I had to cut 2x12 last weekend. The Makita went through them as if they were so 1 / 4 "plywood conscoated with peanut butter.

Dust is not great. I put an adapter instead of the dust bag and attached my Shop Vac. It helped, but the system of an empty bench near the top of the blade protection is still needed or perhaps a scoop at the rear ofsaw attached to a real dust collection system.

My saw arrived with a broken lever bevel. It is only a part of $ 4, so I decided to order me rather than a problem with Amazon or anyone else. I also wanted optional accessories.

There is virtually no barrier on the right side of the blade. However, there is a factory option available is complementary closing a horizontal flange.

I went to a shelter nearby who seems to specialize in Makita where they have abig screen and they had representatives on the plant site several times in the past. When the salesman looked at the closing price of the attachment clip and they almost had to call 911 to restart my heart. Together, they cost more than 1/4th of the price of the new saw.

Even if I have a scandal for the bevel lever and attachment to the right fence.

The wait for the bevel lever was approx. one week. Good service, good price for a 3 "piece of plastic.
A few months later 2 + attachment closing never happened. I hope this is not so, I made a homemade setting that works, but is not, of course, so pretty. But the fact is quite as nice and about $ 5 per square inch of the fence is a Makita littttle expensive if it happens EVER.

This is a great saw, but it scares me to think what will or will not occur if the saw crashes and I have to wait an essential and very important! The letters S - O - L aheadmind.

I had this saw for a couple of years. This is a great saw that has never been stuck or loss of power. The horizontal handle is superb. The blade is not bad either, but it took a little oak and some plywood pieces I recently cut. The only drawback is size. Recently, I had to cut some shelves that was 9 "wide, too big for the saw. I wish I had the 10" saw format (36-240). If you plan to keep your small sized projects it is an excellent saw. ! If youto larger projects, namely shelves, bookcases, etc., then invest in the Delta 36-240 Sidekick sliding miter saw. I also added a LaserKerf to mine, which is a big plus ... Overall, this saw is phenomenal for the price and I will continue to buy Delta.

I'll tell you now, I tried all the other saws on the market tabs, sliding compound miter miter and in all sizes, and this saw is the best. I think the sliding saws are more expensive and more-apt to run out of alignment and become bogged down in heavy materials. They also require dedicated workstations to make them as heavy as the radial arm saw you're probably replace. The 10 "compound miter saws, while more affordable, the lack of cutting ability and, frankly, are notGet the design and construction attention as the saws are more. The 12 "miter fall in the middle. (And the middle value is always the best). They're getting attention on the construction and design, as they aim to the contractor, they have a cutting capacity Decent and they are robust, but portable. I decided that of all other 12 "saws because it has a zero clearance throat plate (a must to remove detachable), triggers excellent tabs, and a strong engine. It also comes withExtensions stock (that work) as standard equipment. The blade upgrade is first class. I even bought a second for the LS1220 pro shop where I work. If you pay much, realizing it!

I had to miter saw 10 inches, but this is my first 12-inch and wow, what a difference it makes. The DW716 slices by anything - wood, steel, PVC, copper, even the stones and bricks. Like others, I had to spend about 30 minutes, the calibration of the box, but have also provided a comprehensive understanding of the tool. These usually sell 20% less at your local hardware store where the sale by Amazon, so shop around. From 10 to 12 inches provides a single referral: the cost of blades is50% more. However, this baby has 15 amps so torque is really useful. If you do not have a good miter saw, Rob your wife or your mother to get one. The speed and accuracy will only pay with your first project. I spent most of the day using this saw to cut the amounts. In my experience, the manual is very confusing to understand. it seems to be written in English, but hey I do not know how to explain it's just really confusing. I went to Lowes to ask for a salesguy to help me use it but I actually thought of it using their display model. Apart from its actual use has been quite pleasant. first time using a miter saw and I watched some YouTube videos on safety, just make sure you cutevenly and let the blade stopping before pulling up. I do not know what happened, but the screw holding the clamp at the base would not screw all the way after I too wide to allow the other side. Perhaps the sawdust he slept, but I tried to blow and he was still stuck. Perhaps the sap got into it, anyway minor problem, but it happened. the included 24 tooth blade is acceptable to rip the studs. This was my first time and on a sidenote, an amount or 2x4 is not really 2 inches by 4thumbs as if I thought it would. newbie error. Perhaps the nail and 2x4 are 2 different things. if you cut a stroke, even gently, then slow down at the edge of the cup it seemed to minimize the outbreak of the small wood. I plan to buy a Freud blade for cleaner cuts molding. as someone mentioned it had a smooth start. for one reason or maybe he said it, but I was expecting a softer start. it is a good feature, but it seems sometimes abrupt. this is not really a negetive, just a kind thoughtyou do not have unrealistic expectations of what soft start means. I have not checked to see if the collection bag is dust as others have warned, but I have not noticed the dust is blown if the saw is not clogged with dust. Overall a good experience and I recommend this. I chose not to get one with the laser, but now I'm debating whether I should have one. this saw has a better view I had on that basis. a little trick I learned is that to obtain accuratecuts, lower the blade into the wood next to your pencil mark. Make sure your finger on the trigger crazy and use your finger to rotate the Blake then one of the teeth to the line connecting the mark. turn the blade on the smooth part of the blade where you are stupid enough to accidentally pull the trigger and a portion of your finger. I can eyeball the cut very precisely in this way, probably better than the laser but a laser is always something that sounds cool to have. anyway just my 2hundred is what I have in the first days of use.

I would certainly rate this saw to the site. The soft-start function is very useful and fluorescent light is a must have. There are so may times when I am in a basement with little light and having to make cuts to cut something. The blade it comes with a blade amazingly gorgeous. The way this saw folds to proceed is by far the best of all the sliders, we used (ie: Bosch, Dewalt, Rigid, Hitachi). The only complaint I have is the index of the wedgetable, which is easy to get used to it, and it seems to hang a bit when the blade is fully extended to make a long cut and the fact that you do not get a wedge of 60 degrees, the sliders belt. It cappacity additional bevel is nice to have done the stairs. I saw with laser and feel they are overvalued anyone who uses one day has always created using the blade, it appears to me to be more precise. Also used with the laser and Makita and like this better.
